What is Counselling?
It is the chance to talk about feelings and the effect they have on you
It gives you ideas to solve a problem
It gives you an opportunity to talk about a problem, even if there isn’t a way to change things
It can help you find ways to cope with various situations happening in your life
It offers you support and let's you know you aren't alone
The guidance counselor is a link to other services and agencies that may be able to help
How do I arrange to see the counselor?
You can let me know when you see me around the school
Ask your parents, your teacher, or someone you trust to let me know
Fill out a counselling slip( located on/by the counselling office door) and leave it in the mail box just inside my door
Let the secretaries know that you would like to see me
E-mail me at darlenemcleod@shmb.ca

They are:
You may ask me to speak with someone else for you or give them information you want them to have
I may need to consult with another professional about how best to help you.
I may feel that you or someone else may be in danger or in need of protection.
